Default Embarking on DAS......

Hi Everyone,

Just about to make the nec arrangements to book for my DAS. Due to work commitments i will not be able to do 5 days on the trot - therefore i will need to spread it out over 2-3 weeks. Has anyone else done this? Do you forget what you learnt?

Also any tips? I am secretly terrifed but have never wanted to do something so much in all my life, so i am really really determined to give it my best shot!

We normally take DAS riders out the week before the test, just to get a feel for how it works. I am sure that the School you are using will be able to work around you, so I wouldn't worry too much about it, and, no you don't forget. It's just like riding a bike
The only piece of advice I can give is this. Just remember that the guy training you is just a biker that wants to help you get through your test he will help you any way he can. The test is the part where everyone cr@ps themselves, just try to keep calm, the examiners are only human, so they will try to put you at ease from the outset.
If you show him that you are comfortable riding the machine, you will be fine.
BTW Good Luck

i'd say you've got the right attitude, if you really want to fail it's probably not for you...

Don't see why not...I'm 5'7, both feet flat on the floor easily. If not, just eat more pies

i was supposed to do a 5-day DAS course but bad weather prevented me from doing my test on the fifth day so i had to wait for a few weeks before having another lesson and booking another test, which also got cancelled due to bad weather so i had to book a third test and did more training then too. i found the break between sessions was helpful and i didn't forget everything. it is really hard work being on a bike all day, especially as a beginner and 5-days in a row is really tiring.

Well I did my training over 2 1/2 weeks...didn't end up doing my test on the big bike tho...did the test on a 125 as I'm a bit feeble and didn't get on with the big bikes during the time we had. I didn't forget anything between training sessions but as I went thru a spate of dropping the bike...having a few days wait between the sessions did nothing for my confidence. I actually HATED my training, didn't feel any better about it until the day before my test when I did a full days training in the test town and everything just clicked...failed my test cos I left my indi's on...doh
