thinking " I've been hammering this thing and my leg hurts" I even thought what could be damaged and made sure to step well back
![]() Still at least it only took 10 minutes to repair the tool and we did get all the bearings out in the end (although I've only seen bearings that " as one" with the carrier a couple of times before). cleaned up the linkage and re-dressed the mating surface, pushed in the new bearings, so he's good to go this evening to get the bike back together, Long old night though, dropped him home at around 2AM ![]() Cheers Mark.

"If I had a hammer...i'd brake it in half!"
![]() Yep, quite happlily hammering away at my suspension linkage and I broke Marks pride and joy! One of his biggest and favorite hammers. Mark reground the handle, put it back on and off we went beating the daylights out of this thing again. However, after scraficeing two sockets, a hammer and a small goat we managed to free the bearings and press in new ones. It took Mark & I arround 4 hours to do this. I had previously been trying my garage for about a day on and off over a period of a few days. When someone says ceased bearings are a bast**d to get out, and you think "How hard can it be?". Trust me, just take them out 6months earlier and greese them! Dan ![]() |

I snapped a snap on spanner once. When my mates, whos spqnner it was, handed it back to the dealer for a replacement, he aksed " How on earth have you managed to snap this (It was a 22mm ring spanner iirc) " To which he replied, with a lot of effort, a 4ft scaffold pole and a left hand thread!!
