Hi all,
Got a GSXR on the Sv (have done for a while now) but recently the front brakes dont seem to be as sharp as they have been in the past. They seem to operate OK but don't seem to be gripping the disc (if that makes any sense?). I've got Carbone Lorraine A3+ pads with OEM discs. I think I read somewhere that I may need to upgrade the master cylinder as it has the original SV (I think GSXR's are the same) one. Cheers, Andy Oh yeah, I blead the brake about a week ago and still the same. |

Sounds like the brake pads may be contaminated or glazed. If everything worked fine before, that's where I'd put my money. You can deglaze them by getting them out and rubbing the braking surface on some sandpaper. If they are contaminated with oil or brake fluid of similar, I have heard that you "may" be able to burn it off using a blow torch or boiling the pads.

Ahhh that would explain my situation also i think.
The initial bite is pretty poor at the min BUT when i squeeze the brake lever hard they still stop resonably well. I think it might have something to do with me riding harder now that ive moved nearer to better roads and with the better weather ive been braking harder. Could that be the same? |

Cheers Scoobs I'll give it a try and see what happens. Is your bike still for sale? Liz has been doing a good sales pitch on your behalf
