Default The wierdest thing EVER

I've just come in from my first ride since late July. Pottering around to get the hang of it all again, I found myself in Eccleston near Chorley.

So, there I was, waiting at a T junction when I heard a motorbike coming from behind me. Check mirrors just as it passes to my nearside to see the entire right side of the bike. That's as in, NO RIGHT LEG.

AT ALL!

This lad was blattin' about on a crappy old 50cc job, looked like an old Yamaha DT or similar with one less limb than most of us! He even had a crutch strapped to the side of the bike (Thinking of you K )

I honestly didn't know what to think. He had jeans on, cut off and sewn up to the stump. Now I'm not talking about part of his lower leg being absent, this was the whole leg, right up to the top of his thigh.

Now that's dedication!

There's a dude who turns up to Rye in Sussex now and then on his Fireblade with a sidecar, and in his sidecar is his wheelchair, for non motorbike getting about.

Very cool!

I have seen a couple of Trike based mobility vehicles around here, certainly nothing 2 wheeled though.

Heh heh - rear brake, pah, but at least he can get on and off the correct side.

To be honest, I've had the same 'is that actually allowed' comment - meh, you only need to put one foot down when you stop.

Either balances against the crutch or uses it to prod the stand down I guess.
