Default Popping out of second?

As the title says. My bike pops out of second gear (into neutral) on occasion. Seems like it does it more when I am accelerating hard...which as you can imagine is scary when you are on full throttle and then it just starts revving. This doesn't happen in any other gear. Am I just not pushing it into gear hard enough or is my shifter linkage a tad short?

That happens to me sometimes when I'm going from 5th to 6th. But I can tell when its about to do it now because it makes a double clicking sound when I change. So I keep the clutch in and just move the lever again.

But I would also like to know what is causing it or if it can be sorted?

check your chain tension. I always seem to have more trouble with gear selection when the chains due to be tightened up a touch.

good bet it's gear selector cam or worn selector fork dog.

normally from either poor gear selection, or learning to stunt the thing.

Not hard to sort out, but expensive if you can't strip the engine down yourself.

Cheers Mark.
