Default Best Bits?

Riding in general is fun, we all know what, but what *really* gets your juices flowing? What are the best of the best bits for you?

For me, I can think of three that i *reeeealy* like.

1) The first is dropping into turns, hard on the brakes that are just over the brow of a rise. There's a moment where the bike drifts both tyres, at full lean before regaining grip. Ooooohhh! it good.

2) Next would be getting a bend exactly right. This is usually a kink in fast straight that involves being hard on the brakes, a lot of lean and full throttle out. Getting it *perfectly* right puts a grin on my face for hours. Knowing you couldn't have braked any harder , leant any futher, or get the power on any sooner. Bliss!

3) Finally, and probably best of them all is going through a series of S bends so that when flicking the bike from one side to the other you can feel the front tyre dragging across the road as you rise to lean the other way. Get it even more precise and you actually lift the front wheel from full lean (hard on the throttle) and it doesn't touch down again until full lean on the other side. Heaven with Handlbars!!!

If I can get all three into one ride, I'm chuffed for days

So what floats your biking boat?

Berlin, just change your login to "Riding God!" , then go and audition for the MotoGP.

I've never seen you ride so have no reason not to believe you, but think the things you describe are beyond the capabilities of the majority of riders. (Correct me if I'm wrong folks, then I'll just think I'm really crap).

For me it's B road scratching too, but drifting both tyres at full lean just sounds my heart attack inducer!

Ralph,

No inflated head intended. They're just the bits I really enjoy.

I've been riding for 21 years and know how to ride a bike but I'm no riding God. I'm sure there are many members on this forum that could ride rings round me.

Neck wound in and off to polish me bike.

Filtering, oddly enough. It helps that I'm pretty decent at it, if I was as good at trackdays or wheelies I'd probably enjoy them as much but when I'm right on it, I do love to carve holes in traffic. Sounds insane now I type it, but when there's roadworks at the forth road bridge (always) I like to go and ride through the miles of jams

Waking up on a Sunday morning and seeing light pouring in through that gap in the curtains..... Then rolling back over as I realise I only have a race bike now.
