I've gotten round to fitting a fender extenda at long last, went to take off the front fender only to find one of the two allen bolts has seized, which i have now managed to 'round'.....AAAARGH! It's slightly recessed into the fender, any tips for getting it out without drilling?

yup...get some araldite or heavy duty epoxy and glue an allen bit into it. Let it dry and then try twist it out.
Failing that....bang a Torx bit into it with a hammer and twist it out. Failing that... get someone to weld a nut onto it and twist it out. Failing that...drill it.... ![]() |

Hammering in a Torx is certainly one way to do it. Or try gently sawing a slot with a junior hacksaw and then using a large bladed screwdriver. Or try using an impact driver, which usually works pretty well if you've managed to cut a groove deep enough to get some purchase.
Oh, and use lots of WD40 on the bolt beforehand too. |

Nah, try TT+/plusgas/duck oil ... WD40 isn't really designed as a penetrant oil

WD40 is designed as a Water Displacement agent, which is where the name comes from. It's a pretty poor penetrating oil. It does a lot of things reasonably well, which makes it very versatile but when you've got a stuck bolt you don't want versatile, you want the best you can find at that one job. Which for me, so far, is Plus Gas. I mainly use WD40 for removing stickers
![]() And I'd be trying the torq bit with a hand impact driver here.

Why am I blue...
It might have been designed for it, but its crap, good for stopping your tools from going rusty though.
