i just opened my emails to find one from the "desk of the lottery coordinator" telling me I've won $1,500,000.00 USD and should contact the lottery (to an AOL email address

) with my full name and contact numbers, so i responded in the following way.

I always thought this sort of thing was done to get email addresses. When someone replies they add it to their "confirmed" email address list which is then sold onto spammers/porn peddlers across the web as a bone fide address.

Likewise the "respond here to remove you from this spam" link also serves that exact purpose.

Advice - don't wear out your keyboard even bothering to respond.

i get crap sent to me anyway, one of the advantages of having a hotmail account

i can't believe it they actually replied, they obviosly didn't read the email i sent them because they said my prize has been moved payment centre and they have sent me a form to fill in wanting to know everything about me

, i would fill it in with a load of crap but its pretty big

and i cant be bothered
