Default Small concern..

Was out on the SV tonight for about an hour, some odd stuff was happening.

THe first thing that was wrong was sometimes as i went to throw out the acceleration, going from say 4k revs to 7k it would dip in power as i revved it then suddenly shoot off..

The second issue was that it randomly cut out going about about 30, too high gear maybe?

but THEN on the way back, it was fine and smooth!!

Maybe i left the choke on?

What was the ambient temperature like. Sounds a bit like carb icing but would have thought Bournemouth would be too mild.

Yeah it is rather, probably was about 10C

Not too bad.. maybe it was just cos it hasnt been properly ridden in a couple of months.

cos it rode very smoothly, started easily on the way back.

Just a thought but it might be worth checking the condition of your fuel filter.

Hesitation is usually fuelling related, too lean.
Maybe float valve sticking closed? Unusual but could happen I suppose.
Maybe the screen in the petcocks clogged up.

Aha i just remembered something..

before i went out i went and filled up, no unleaded was available so i put "ultimate unleadead" in.. maybe it was just hte old fuel and that mixing?

or not.. i dont know all that much about 4 strokes.

Could that have affected it?

Just took it out tonight for about 50 miles.

All in all very smooth, however did cut out twice at slow speeds (10mph or so) but was able to fire it up immediatly on the electric start.

Im fine with it right now, but if the problem develops, ill let you guys know
