Re: Dunlop Roadsmart
Well i've covered about 700 miles on my hoops now and i can only say they are brilliant! In the wet when its uber greasy they've spun up a bit but that can only be expected! I had a major moment the other day pulling onto the dual carridge way out of Telford where i felt as though i was riding speedway style. Although this is probably due to my inexperience and the tyres being cold.
Other than that, i'm very happy. |

Re: Dunlop Roadsmart
Nice to hear your opinions guys. The press certainly seem to be rating them. I'm due a set on my girl now and plan to get them fitted in te next week or two before its 7.5k service (actually 8k+). Well I wasn't going to service it BEFORE laying up. It makes more sense to have everything fettled before RIDING.
Looking forward to any improvement over the suspect D220s. Garry |

Re: Dunlop Roadsmart
Just to update on this.....
...my price for a pair of Roadsmarts fitted & balanced RIDE IN - RIDE OUT, was £175. Top result and so far, so good. Covered the first 100 or so miles after getting them done, so just the good miles to come . Garry |

Re: Dunlop Roadsmart
Considering a pair of these myself. Anyone know a good cheap fitter in the Stoke-on-Trent to Crewe area?

Re: Dunlop Roadsmart
I reckon another update is in order, after todays run to the coast for us lot up here.......
The tyres seem to have scrubbed in well now and despite not having been out much in the last few months, I felt quite safe in the bends. That's despite the temperature being no more than about 4'C and the roads being either damp and greasy, or covered in salt. So far, so good. Garry |

Re: Dunlop Roadsmart
Yeah it a dual comp. NExt winter i shall be having some of these fitted again i'm sure. Never tried dunlops before but i am pleased. COming of BT014's to these is not a bad jump at all. A quality tire in near enough all weathers.

Re: Dunlop Roadsmart
Well i've completed 1000miles on these now so thought I'd give an update.
Ultimate grip wise they seem to be better that the Z6's that came off (always difficult to tell with out back to back comparison of new tyres, but that is my impression). They are great in the dry and wet and do warm up quickly. Feels VERY planted once inthe corner. Wear wise, I'm measuring tread wear across the tyre profile every 1000 miles. As expected, most wear in the middle so I'll just tell you that they've dropped by 1mm in tread depth at the rear, and a bit less at the front. Lifewise they are looking good for 5-6k miles at present. This is a bit disappointing after the 9k miles I got out of the Z6's but that's the price you pay for more grip I guess. I had kind of hoped that the compound in the middle of the tyre would be similar in duration to the Z6, with just softer rubber on the edge. I'll update in a 1000 miles time.

Re: Dunlop Roadsmart
I'm running the risk of ridicule here but...these are the points I measure the tread depth at (at three points around the circumference of the tyre).
This graph shows the tread depth when new and at 1000 miles, for the front tyre: And this one shows the same for the rear:
