Hi all,
One for the suspension experts - brother has a 2003 ZX6R (know for hard suspension) and wants to soften things up a bit. He doesn't want to spend a fortune sorting it all out so what is the best thing to do? He was been quoted £300 for a new spring and to re shim and valve the existing shock, does this sound about right? Any ideas? New shock or sort the original one? Suggestions of places to go etc would be good too. Thanks, Andy |

Hi Andy - I have one which I have bought the shock off a 2005 ZX6 + linkage for which is yet to be fitted. This is a recent post on the Ninja site on the subject - http://www.mcnninjas.co.uk/forum/ind...?topic=60164.0. I have already added a spacer to the rear shock which has helped a lot - although the bike turns quicker, it is a lot more stable and progressive when turning - you don't feel 'OMG, I'm going to crash and die'.

I've had a word with him but he doesn't want to spend quite that much on it, which I think is a bit silly considering he's spent all that money on the bike and that extra bit would really sort it out.
Thanks for the link Scooby will forward it onto him. |

Ah right.. Is it a bolt straight on job to my ZX6R B1H? How much are you after too?

Yep simple swap. They got for around £600 new (not sure on exact price as I got it along with some other bits) so I'd be looking for around £300.

![]() THere's a lot to be said for buying a proper shock- they keep their value, and performance wise it can't be beat. WP make good stuff... And there's always going to be a demand for proper shocks for ZX6Rs, for obvious reasons.
