Let them write it off (probs Cat D), then buy back for buttons (probs <£1k) and put it back on the road yourself.
I reckon most of what they've quoted for are 'non-essential' replacement parts as they have to put new stuff on after an off. That said, obviously haven't seen your bike, but doesn't sound like you could have really damaged everything so badly. Mine was written off mainly because of fairings, zorst and the usual mirrors, levers etc plus labour. However I got it back on the road fairly cheap and it's still going strong now. |
