Yep, thanks a lot Stu. Here's me wearing mine over my textile jacket (I'm not really that fat, honest).

On the subject of hi vis, if you wear it, I'd strongly advice dayglo orange/green/yellow as opposed to just bright white scotchlite. The reason being, the other night, I nearly ran over a highways maintenance bloke. It was pitch black with a bit of spray, and generally quite busy. He was stood on the central reservation. I saw him from some distance, but my brain registered the two white bands as the headlights of a car in the oncoming lane (which was behind him and he blended into the headlights nicely). Needless to say, I was a bit perturbed when this "car" ran across the middle of my lane, about 20M from my front wheel!

Would I of seen him sooner had he not been wearing high vis? No, of course not. Had he not been wearing any, however, he would probably not have assumed I'd seen him (as I imagine he must have) and run in front of traffic at motorway speeds.

NB: Disclaimer; No, I wasn't speeding, yes I was paying attention, yes I was looking forwards at the time, yes I had contact lenses in (giving me perfect vision- for a white man :) ), yes I even "saw" him. . I just didn't clock that he was a person, rather than a car, till he ran across in front of me. :?
