I've got the tools. Didn't need a fork compressor on these.
All done. Took about 2 hours.

The oil levels were very, very low both sides.

The bike feels much happier already. Returns back up after compressing the forks. Test ride needed... but it keeps chucking down torrential rain here at random moments....

Most important tool today was the Log... (after Ghostbikes royally messed up twice trying to deliver an MX stand and eventually gave up and refunded me, without telling me.... this bit should be in the gripe thread).

It took me a week to get a reply from them that there's nothing else they can do but take it back to look at so I have to take it a two hour trip and leave it with them. Not holding out hope.

Might just be returned to the seller if this goes on too much.

Test ride today. Bike felt much better at first, but a quick stop to check and the new seals are pi$$ing fluid everywhere. All down the stanchions, onto the pads and disc and tyre. Sketchy test ride. Got a feeling it's the seals I got though rather than a fork problem. Although there must be a reason oil levels were so low with the last seals fitted.

I got the seals from a place that has provided wrong sized bushes in the past... twice. But they were obviously totally the wrong size both times. These seals seemed good. But obvioulsy they're not.

i chased my tail for 3 seal changes before i had to swap the tubes out as the bushing in the tubes (not the stanchion) were too worn letting the stanchion rattle which cased enough play to let oil past the seals.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

This bike only has 10,00 miles on it and is only 7 years old though. I can't imagine the forks are worn out in that time.

It's starting to sour the experience of a bike that I really like though and I'm getting a bit fed up with trying to work it out and chasing the dealer too.

My other day off of the week tomorrow, so I'll be spending that doing a fork strip down again.
