i grip the throttle with my thumb and index finger and break with my other three.

Blimey never thought of that one! Doesnt feel very natural for me as when I separate my index from the other 3 it strains but I'll have to try it on the bike....

it comes from being short and bikes that dont tick over properly. i could not put both feet down when i was younger so got in the habit of using the front brake at lights/junctions as i couldn't use the back due to having to use it to stand on due to cambers. just a habit that has stuck.

Brought up on British bikes, you needed a good handful to try to get them to stop, so its four fingers for me
