Re: seized bolt + more
Thats why any heat or cold you use has to be localised to the bit itself.
Did it slide in snug or is it twisted into the head of the bolt? If its not locked itself in then maybe a strong magnet and knocking it about with a punch will get it out? When you get the broken allen bit out of the head then I'd try some loctite freeze and release spray as close to the threads as you can get, mabe down the back of the shock bushing. |

Can you un-twist it with a punch?
If so then it might come free easily. |
Re: seized bolt + more
Lots of cobalt drill bits and even more patience!
Then an easyout stud extractor. |
Re: seized bolt + more
Which are harder than any easily obtainable drill bit, so you'd better not break one.
If the allen bit was too weak to undo it, then an easy out will either round out or break before the threads let go. Or are you meaning just to get the allen bit out? If you do that then you can start again with other methods and less brutality! |
Re: seized bolt + more
Yeah just to get the bit out sorry, it may come out itself if the drill bit grips and twists the allen bit clockwise. We have a locker at work with sizes from about 1mm to 9 or 10mm if you're after one ;)
