do you smoke?

Re: Helmet painting
Nope. But it's a good comparison. Way I see it, for everything other than the top coat there's less harmful options, so I used one of those (tetrasyl singlepack and cellulose laquer, the clear coat isn't great but the paint and undercoat were fine.
But then, when you add in the cost impact, it all starts to get a bit less of a good option. |
Re: Helmet painting
i am very familier with tetrasyl products - not the best, but you get what you pay for.
HMG Paints is the company i work for (and of course i am biased coz i know the products) believe me, using 2k for a helmet will not cause you any bother - there is just not enough of it to lead to problems. big question i suppose is 'would i do my own lid, if i had never sprayed anything before?' answer - NO but i have done (i think) 4 lids, along with amongst other things a 48 seat coach |

:D
i am just showing off coz i know a load about paint how sad am i ? anyway - seeing as we seem to have totally highjacked the thread, let me tell you about my 1st real ride on the SV i got before xmas i know, why so long before i took it out? well, needed new battery, then realised that i would be able to get it out of the shed, but would never get it back in coz the shed door is 6" above the ground. anyway, did about 20 miles this evening before it p1ssed down - cant wait to get some real miles inder me (really need a new back tyre though) |
Re: Helmet painting
I think I've had about 2 dry rides so far this year :smt088 This happens every year, I just start getting half decent at riding in the cold and wet and then spring arrives!
