Aha! Thinking outside the box for a minute, you could cover all the painted surfaces in insulating tape! Never been done before. Oh wait... ;-)

It may be cheaper for you as i had the fairings smoothed off after i did some fibreglass work on them and a dent in the tank sorted

then had
front fairings
tank
seat panels
seat cowl
undertray

all painted

maybe not so over the top.
looking at the foto there is a fair amount to be done in the 3 colour scheme

i would expect a perfect finish for 750 quid, but i would ask for details of what EXACTLY he would do for your money, then send details to me & i will run the rule over it.

(i have worked for a paint company for years so i know what is involved)

I'd probably hazard a guess that would be about right, maybe a tad on the spensive but a lot to do following the current scheme. Only going what my mate had done to her Bandit which was a custom job, swirly girly patterns n stuff, and she paid 500 quid for what she had done...that didn't involve soooo many colours

Having my K5 done as we speak

Im having all the plastics done including new belly pan and a repair to the fairing, striping painted on (no stickers for me) and custom painted graphics all for the princely sum of £500.

There a few other trick bits that my guy is doing but Ill wait until its all painted and finished before I post some pics and reveal the colours Ive gone with - all ill say for now is its different!

Cause I did it last time. Nuff said really.

If you canned it make sure you let whoever is doing it know as it will effect the price, aerosol is a nightmare when your trying to paint over with 'proper' paint, it cloggs discs, goes soft with panel wipe and reacts with just about anything.

£750 is about right if its done properly, all lines painted, laquered then smoothed then re-laquered etc

Any recommendations from those who got a good cheap job done then? I've got an SV tank which needs changing from silver to black and Venom's white spider sprayed across it!
