No it doesn't protect the plug, you need a fender extender. Or alternatively 2 bits of plastic guttering, a heat gun and some gaffer tape.

Thats what I said in my first post, I have now fitted a GSXR K1-K2 fender to my SRAD front end and it is exactly the same.
