When Helga was mine, I was commuting 92 miles a day on it. Only had about 4,000 miles on it when I brought it. Didn't take long to rack em up.

I am 4.4 miles each way to and from work.

Still have 200 miles on a bike I have had for 4 days tho :)

I have use of a car until 15th April when it will be bike only for work and play - its a 22 mile round trip to work each day so thats ~90 miles a week just commuting - during the summer 150-200miles a weekend is not uncommon "enjoying" myself (why does that sounds perverted??!) so I would imagine the 9000 miles on my 18 month old bike will soon see a sharp increase - hey ho - I was offered ?2k as a trade in towards the end of last summer so I may as well make the most of it!

Why do rideouts not count? bit of a pointless poll if you discount miles depending on who's with you.
Sometimes on my commute I see so many SV's is like a rideout - do I have to discount those as well? :???:

I was particularly interested in commutes as that's what I use my bike for the majority of the time.

What was at the back of my mind was a figure I read somewhere talking about 'average' use for a motorbike - I think 3k/year was average use for a 500cc+- bike... I'm thrashing that, and was curious as to what others did? The reason I discounted rideouts was mainly because I'm interested in a more 'continuous' use, rather than a 400-mile blitz once every 3 or 4 weeks, over 4 months of the year... Plus, I'm a grumpy old bugger who doesn't like people having fun on rideouts as I'm pretty much restricted to using the bike for the ride to work..... :-D

Daily commute of 19 miles each way. That's 38 daily miles or 190 a week plus any meetings or diversions to see the folks on the way home.
My 52 plate has just had its 15000 service (although it was 700 miles late! oops). I had new tyres (Road Attacks), chain, sprockets and fork seals at the same time. It's now a completely diffefrent bike to ride. I love it :)

65 miles per day to work. Plus any personal mileage like gym and rideouts etc.

So yeah, more than 300 per week. :(
