It stops water ingress to the front spark plug, probably the most common problem the SV suffers from. Quote:

Re: New... just wanted to say Ello...
Hi, welcome to the forum and good luck for your test next week. Congratulations on getting an SV, especially a Curvy!
1) No your not mad!!! 2) Curvy's are the best and any loud pipe will do!!! 3) Yes, the SV will teach you a lot and is relatively safe for newbies (not idiot proof though). 4) 27k miles is no problem for an SV or even a bike of that age, low mileage for age I think personally. 5) Move out of Bristol!!! I wouldn't bother with an immobiliser, bikes get picked up and thrown in to the back of a van here in the UK. An alarm would be better but to be honest how many people take any notice of alarms nowadays? A good chain wrapped through the swingarm and wheel to a solid fixed object is the best thing to do, not 100% secure but a thief may just look to a bike beside yours with no chain on for ease! Fender Extender for a Curvy ('99-'02 model SV) which you can get from Pyramid Plastics.... http://www.pyramid-plastics.co.uk/ca...ages/05010.jpg And for Crash bungs it seems most would opt for Motosliders... http://www.10bomb.com/store/catalog/images/MS-1one.jpg http://www.shanebevel.com/bike/WC07.JPG |
