Re: Bank holiday monday 23rd March - bloody freezing but sunny all round - rideout anyone?
hmmm im not convinced by the weather - nice and sunny here but there's still snow in the shadows and the roads are damp. And being the cautious type, I'd feel a right numpty coming back on here this evening saying "Gr33k you were right, how do I fix my gear lever?"...
think i'll give it a miss today fellas, prolly make good use of the time by fitting brand new boxed lowers, r&g bungs and the DB screen I've had for about 2 months. Go on with out me. I'll only slow you down  |
Re: Bank holiday monday 24th March - bloody freezing but sunny all round - rideout anyone?
Well, I just got back from a quick run upto the bridge. As I past Pendle with snow on it, I should have realised. Then by the time I got to settle it was starting to snow.
So brew at bridge to thaw, then down to Caton and jumped on the M6 filtering was fun as cars slowed for the snow. bike in garage and sat here shivering. Worse part was the sun was shinning when I set out. Oh and thank you to the kind person that dropped a couple of pieces of wood right in the middle of a bend on the way back. |

Re: Bank holiday monday 24th March - bloody freezing but sunny all round - rideout anyone?
what's the best way to fix a gear lever? joking.
I started to fit the double bubble screen after hearing it was a 20 min job - only took two hours  I'm carp at taking things to bits... but in the end, managed to get it all in proper without breaking anything, and then managed to get out for about 2 hours (between snow and glorious sun!). Had quite a good day - did about 8 laps of my favourite roads (about 3 miles round trip) named the "Clifton GP"... ah what a wierd day. pics of the screen fitting job coming soon :) |
Re: Bank holiday monday 24th March - bloody freezing but sunny all round - rideout anyone?
Well it seem son the low ground its been ok ish. But not ideal for the bike I can tell you. Some bloody idot decided not to grit the A169, the main road from Pickering to whitby. So when I set off home at 10AM (left it a couple of hors for the ice to leave) there was still snow in the middle of the road and a couple of cars in the hedge bottom... Sigh.
Here is a pic at 8:30AM At Fylingdales. |

 Well. You could do what I did and get your old man to take it work to weld back on. Or you could buy a new one Or you could drill it out and use a couple of nuts and a bolt... :D Or... even buy a new one. :( |
