They can only charge what people are willing to pay. If people refuse to pay these prices, then they'll be reduced. The trouble is that there are people who will pay this for a sandwich.

on the rare occasion we stop to buy food at service stations have found in the past that buying food at the M&S outlets there works out cheaper than the actual shops, which is saying something.

Moral of this thread, make urself a couple of sarnies and a hot beverage in a flask - sorted, no need to give in to the ridiculous prices then! Fuel is costly enough without having to spend more on fuel for yourself :rolleyes:
