Hmmm, well a lot of people hand their card to me at the counter when I serve them, mainly because they don't know which way to put it in the machine .

That i can believe, but it's not exactly difficult is it? The idea is still that you don't need to hand over your card

Yeah, I don't give mine to anyone. Some customers amuse me though, one woman the other day had no idea how to use it so her daughter typed her pin in for her which kinda defeats the object

And the number of people who leave with it still in the machine! I've lost count of the number of times I've had to remind them to take it out, even though the machine tells you to remove it anyway :-s

I can't be trusted with plastic. Cash only for me.

I think I read somewhere that the machine will take an uncollected card back in and drop it in the reject bin.

Yeah I've done it once, bought a lottery ticket and a packet of cigs, then promptly left the shop with my lottery ticket but left the card in the machine and the cigs on the counter! Thankfully I realised almost straightaway when I got a few yards away from the shop and went to light a ciggie...

Pedant mode on: And therein lies the problem - it doesn't tell you to remove it. You have to read that message informing you to remove it. Pedant mode off.

Tis true you know.:smt108

More than once! A least twice doing crimbo shopping, a couple of other misc times. I've also left my keys in the bike with the ignition on a few times when parked up in a bike bay.

I'm a lucky sod though, and not lost one yet:riding:
