You can obviously spend thousands, but I am not in that sort of market ... I'd rather just take the chance and replace the stuff that is nicked, it'd prolly work out more cost effective! ;)

However, I am being realistic and I don't mind spending a few hundred, but equally I am not going to spend ?500 on a setup, when I can get the results I need from say a ?150 setup ;)

To be fair, I have done a fairly hefty amount of e-searching now and haven't come up with the goods that ticks all my boxes ... be it for ?50 or ?500 ... I wanted something I could just pick off the shelf somewhere too ... I could then look at it and see if it fits the bill ... and have it TODAY!

p.s. It has to have IR for night time.

I can supply you with night vision cameras capable of 150x zoom, and will show perfect video in complete darkness, if that's your market, but yea, you will be paying through the nose for a setup like that.

Also, camera's don't NEED IR capability, just capable of approx 0.8lux and have a decent IR lamp mounted near them. ;)

But anyway, you've chosen already. :)

It needs to do night and day, so a .8lux camera would get 'flooded' in daylight ;)

Nah, you can get cameras that will auto adujst brightness so long as it stays within 0.5-3ish lux.

Ok, so do you have a 'solution' I can pick of a shelf?? ;) i.e. available from country wide stores ...

Nah, when we order things like that, it's always an internet order. Usually from ebay. But then, if it doesn't fill the requirement, it can usually be used somewhere else.

Given that you're picky (:p) there's little helping you. ;)

Off the top of my head, Sony's SNC-CS series should do most of the things you want. IIRC, SNC-CS3 is an IP camera.

0.5lux minimum, 30fps at 640x480, but they come in at around ?300, and you'd still need to add the IR lamp.

There's an IR lamp on Maplin's website, but it's "coming soon" - ?49.99. I've also just seen a "Vandal-Proof dome cam" that has built in IR, again, coming soon, and is ?249.99. I know next to nothing about that camera, other than it's 520 lines, and will go down to 0.15lux.
