I have Hagon progressives & 15w oil in mine & love them. The difference is unbelievable over standard

What is required to do this , is it fairly easy for somebody like me (an engineer) to do ? . Is it just a case of dropping a leg out at a time , unscrewing the top , draining and dropping new oil and spring in ?

I like things a bit stiff;). I did try the ohlins for a week or two with 10w but my god it was like a bouncy castle. I can't be having all that movement up my shoulders, the suzy set up don't budge at all, it feels lovely and smooth, I get on well with it

I fit a lot of Hyperpro progressive fork springs to SV's, more than any other product.

Hi, I have just fitted Hyperpro Springs to my SV pointy and I followed the recommended setting from Hyperpro, SAE 15w 140 air gap. I did find it still dived a little on braking and also it was a bit harsh over the bumps in the road, almost like it was skipping a little so I added another 20mm of oil which has helped a lot with the fork dive under braking.

The only thing I have found now is that it still a little harsh over bumps so I have reduced the pre load on the forks which has helped a bit. I was wondering if it would help more if I tried mixing 15w with 10w to give me 12.5w, would this work with the issue I am having. I am around 13.5 stone all kitted up.

Pretty much, one of the most important thing if you are changing the oil is to remember to pump all the old oil out first. It sort of gets trapped. You add the new oil with the leg fully depressed drop the spring in. As an engineer you wont have a problem, if you are an engineer in something mechanical of course!

Yup a mechanical engineer :D , Dangerous Dave I`ve been looking at those hyperpro kits on Twinshack quite a few times , must admit they have caught my eye

Yeap, good value for money and they work a treat too! As everybody has said they are dead easy to fit, remove the fork (loosen the fork tops before undoing the yoke clamp bolts), remove the internals, pump the oil out, replace internals with new spring, top up the oil (weight specific) and bolt the fork back in the bike. Job done, nice and easy!

I wouldn't recommend the full Hyperpro kit which comes with a replacement rear shock spring, its not the spring that is the problem with the OEM SV shock, its the actual shock itself!

'df1uk' - I have replied to your PM.
