Re: British MotoGP moving for 2010?
I went on an adventure to Silverstone when still a kid. Train down to God knows where and then hitched the last leg. Silverstone was an ace track but just like Assen they have spoiled the last curve by making it a chicane now.
What Donington do need to do is drastically improve the track surface at every curve as it is apparently the worst that the Moto GP bikes race on. |

silverstone is too flat and dull imho. I love brands as it is not flat and dull. I think there are safety issues on the circuit tho and recently improvements failed to get planning permission so I understand. Donnington is great apart from the newer part of the circuit which for me ruins it almost entirely.

Re: British MotoGP moving for 2010?
The owner of Brands has said that he doesn't think they would ever be able to hold the GP there as it would involve a lot of work that they cannot afford to do (so he's obviously looked into it), i for one would love to see it there, i love the circuit & the facilities are always good, it's the only place i've been where they clean the toilets during the events, ok i know donington has got 100 million to spend but up to now i think the facilities there have been a disgrace.

Are you sure you went to Brands Hatch??? There are so many places to watch at Brands even if the circuit is busy. (Although I will be watching the WSB races from my sofa 7 miles away from the track next weekend:pale:) |
Re: British MotoGP moving for 2010?
We'll be there.
Brands have done a heck of a lot of updating in the last couple of years, the grandstands along the start straight now let you see a fair bit if you get toward the back. I think the top events need to be spread about a bit so that not just one track gets all the takings, Brands & Silverstone have done a heck of a lot of work in the last few years but if they don't get any of the big events it wont be long before money gets tight & stuff that starts falling apart doesn't get replaced, motorsport in this country needs to be strengthened & ALL our tracks need spectator support, how would we feel in the future if Donington had staged everything & then the powers that be decided that it was no longer good enough & we never had British rounds of F1 or GP. Moto GP at Cadwell, Rossi & Co over the mountain, now that is a thaught. |
