Ha ha.... I was only kidding! To be honest me and my girlfriend may go touring on the bike next year so I may have to get a top-box then :-$

No she won't, she'll be soaked and give him earache about it for the rest of their holiday!

Much much easier solution is to go without pillion. Less stuff to carry, no need for that ugly pizza box!

Funny that - it always used to happen to me until I "forgot" to remember to take my ear plugs out after removing my helmet...

There's a reason I don't want a rider-pillion intercom set :viking:

Also, I will be riding the bike to work, is the storage on the pointys large enough for a decent chain, for example the ABUS city X-Plus 1060. What do you guys use to secure your bikes when you are out and about?

If you are commuting to work you'll need either a locker at work for shoes/trousers, a top box or a rucksack to carry them in. Much easier using a top box than a rucksack. If you're going to be commuting in the rain, you'll also need room for a spare shirt etc. in case you get soaked through.
The other benefit of a top box is to lock the helmet in and save carrying it around with you everywhere.

These young whipper-snappers don't know a practical thing when it wallops them upside t' head with a day old blood pudding.

I don't bother taking my chains to work anymore, but my bike is parked in a business court (no passing traffic/pedestrians), directly outside the office window. I know my chain won't fit under the seat by a long shot.

Re: Underseat storage on a pointy and security

Well at the moment I am only working part time on the weekends as I have just finished my masters at uni. Looking for a full time job, but for the time-being am working at a wholesaler so will have to park the bike in the carpark/chain it to the trolley bay post or perhaps one of the other pillars outside the store. Was planning on getting a rucksack for my trousers and shoes while I ride, but not keen on the idea of having a heavy chain and padlock in there just in case I come off. What decent chains and locks am I likely to get under the seat? I have a locker in work to store my stuff when I get inside.

Here is a piccy of the underseat on my K6. I have a scottoiler and can still get a chain and lock under.
