Judging by the stories from the lorry drivers who got out it was a damn close run thing as some steely old Duke might have said.What Im saying is that we have had basically the same incident more than once,which means we should take steps to prevent it before the close run thing turns into disaster.I remember the Kings Cross underground fire very well indeed,and being wise after the event is no substitute for prevention.

Was due to return from France on the train yesterday and I didn't know anything about it untill I got to Callais and saw big signs at the roadside saying tunnel closed. Carried on to the check in and was given a ticket for the Seafrance ferry, I was sailing within the hour and all in lost about two and a half hours from my original schedule.

It couldn't have been easier so a big thanks to Eurotunnel.
