Re: Gsx-r600 k8?
GSX-R 750 seems to be the general recommendation.
I'm going to test ride both as there's only £50 difference in the insurance and £1K between the OTR prices. I'll report back, any other opinions please post, they r very welcome. thanks John |
Re: Gsx-r600 k8?
i got my 600 k8 last week - still running it in so can't comment on power over 8k revs :( (till next week anyway he he !).
the mode selector (chicken switch) seems pointless at the moment but as an earlier poster says maybe in the wet. I think the bike is fab, really light, leans in so well and is great to handle, the seat is very comfy, no sore ass like i had on the sv. I did debate the 750 but couldn't see the need to spend the extra money, the 600 still gives 125bhp at the crank and as for the 163mph top speed, maybe one day ! for the mileage you do the 600 would be fine i reckon. |

For the odd blat I would agree there's not so much in it between the 600 and 750, because you (me) would be happier ragging it 'on a run', it's day-to-day or long rides where it you aren't 'full on' that it could get tiresome. Quote:

nah, to be honest i didn't take any of them for a test ride, i just bought it. I tend to use it for work very occasionally but then just blast it on a saturday so thought it was fine for that. I do tend to impulse buy and maybe suffer for it later... |

i love my 600 so darnt test ride the 750 that would cost me:smt047 my reasons for not having the 750k8 was the insurance, i got a good deal from chells in stafford @ £7200 on the road for a new k8 750 but my insurance was 1k plus for some reason? (because i keep crashing :( ) so settled for a test ride on my k7 600 which i purchased straight away! ive never been past 11k revs cant see the need its like riding a scalded cat as it is. |
