Tell you what... give them to me and keep the original... solves the problem.

Can I change my vote? Looking at the table, the GXSR1000 shock will be an improvement for you in terms of spring stiffness.

Re: the shocking truth about shock absorbers... (noob questions as asked by myself)
where did you get that table from mr pants?
I'm guessing the 330mm length on the pointy sv shock is the reason why the battery box needs hacking when a 332.5mm gsxr shock is fitted? Because of the 2.5mm?! <mr. t> that don't make no sense fool! </mr. t> pointy sv 430 vs kwak ninja 540 strength (is that in kg/mm?) thanks for all your patience so far everyone, I am crap |

No KeithD option in Poll - Start again!
I'd say thou will be fine for you Paul. |
Re: the shocking truth about shock absorbers... (noob questions as asked by myself)
You need to cut the battery box because the reservoir on the GSXR shock needs to live somewhere. SV shock is emulsion type, oil and gas just sloshes about.
IMO the k5 gsxr thou shock will be a slight improvement in spring rate and a massive improvement in damping. Too hard a spring is not always good if you can use enough preload to get sag right on a softer spring. |

P.s I don't know much about pointies...
I reckon the gixxer one will work, which option should I vote on?!?!? |

Re: the shocking truth about shock absorbers... (noob questions as asked by myself)
i suppose I'm not a maniac on the roads either, I just want to tidy up the shock and front end. If I was looking to shave seconds off my commute time to the track and practice sessions then maybe I should be a bit more concerned about this kind of thing, but seeing as though I just want to improve the feel/damping, and plenty of others have done it & are happy with it, I guess the gsxr shock will be fine for my requirements.
case closed. Now then which bathroom should I go for? |

top stuff matey, thanks for you help.
maybe we could do with contributing to and/or tidying up the faq's and how to section on the main site. It would save searching through the endless threads for the same tables and info. Which shock will fit which bike, whats the spring rate etc? |
