raw materials dont cost that much theyd need to make them from solid diamond.

Take apart a Blueflame exhaust and a Yoshi and then compare the quality and craftsmanship.

blueflame's not the best example though.

I only paid £250 for my Yoshi can as it's from the States ;)

But I have paid $800 (holding off on converting the £s as I have access to a US credit card so it's on there at the moment) for the rest of the system as I stupidly decided to upgrade - the full system is only about $1150!

Anyway, I'm sure part of it is for the name - it's a premium brand at the end of the day - but you DO get good quality as Dave says, not just in materials but fit & finish, etc.
The difference I was highlighting, though, was just that with Yoshi they will actually look at its performance and design it appropriately, Racefit just go "oooh shortest and smallest can possible please, yeah now whack that on" - which I just couldn't live with.

ive never heard of racefit and i'm not arguing that yoshi's are poo i actually think they're dead good just really really lots of money and you can get similar stuff for a lot less cash.

Yes in external looks anyway, you won't get a budget can made to the same quality and performance as a Yoshi, Akra, etc....

Well that logic I'd apply here would be, it costs a lot to test stuff like performance to the level you'd expect Yoshi/Akra to do it to. Dynos, obviously, plus lots of chopping and changing in the R&D.

That money has to be made up in the price of the can, sure they will maybe get a better margin, but what I'm saying is, is that this R&D is being paid for.

Someone else - Scorpion for example - may do R&D but to a lesser level. They obviously do enough to print dyno graphs as part of their promotional material, etc.

Some manufacturers don't do it at all of course - I'm thinking Beowulf (proved IMO by my can on my CBR), maybe CCC and that sort.
