Haven't people had lots of trouble with the Oxford heated grips not working/cutting out?

I've got Oxford Hot Hands wrap around grips that I keep under the seat and put on if it's very cold. They get very warm, I have to turn them on and off to stop my palms overheating. As has already been said, the back of your hand still gets cold from the wind hitting it. They do make the grip a bit fat though.
