as part of a service can you monitor the voltage to monitor the reg/rec to predict a failure or not?

Can't see any way of predicting it, when something fails you just have to find it!

Aye, they tend to be fine then just go, can't really get that much resolution on a voltage check to predict when they're on their way out. Too many other factors to say.
