We also did the turkey thing over here. Its not a local tradition, but its what we do. Very nice too.

I'm stuggling with the concept of a "free-range turkey crown". How can it be free-range if it doesn't have any legs?

We had a M & S pre-prepared oven-ready turkey and it was excellent. Lot less faffing about than doing it yourself.

Today we're having turkey goujons.

Tomorrow we're having turkey curry.

Just cos OP had lamb, on what basis do you suggest that turkey is no longer popular?

We had turkey.

I had a ham in a phesent in a duck.

Frankly the whole turky thing at christmas is rubbish, if you want to be properly traditional you should have a goose, they are much much nicer than turkey.

The whole chrimo veg thing with sausages all in a massive yorkshire pudding.
Whole meal only took 45 mins to prep and cook and was yummy.

Now, I would like to try goose, but can never find any.

we had turkey, gammon and a small roast beef. Got loads left over which meant we had the leftovers for dinner again tonight

We have turkey every year :D why are you asking if the tradition is dying?

We had chicken... Had duck last year. Turkey's just not very nice really, we looked at it one year and said "There's a reason we only eat this once a year, isn't there" and never had it again.

i would much rather have chicken or lamb than turkey. turkey is dry, and boring and plain. that giant yorkshire pudding sounds amazing though. a pre-prepared turkey is a good idea but mummy just goes ahead and makes a turkey. i also worked on xmas day.
