Re: flatslide carbs
Unless you fit 1000 throttle bodies you'll get more power from the flatslides and to fit the bigger bodies and convert to injection is quiet involved.
The main restriction on an injected bike is the throttle bodies, even the std cv's can flow more as they are tapered, wheras the throttle bodies are parallel. As for bogging, if theyre setup right you've got to be really brutal to make an sv bog, 4cyl bikes are more prone to it with fcr's fitted, but in 2 years racing mine it never did it. |
Re: flatslide carbs
Ah, my mistake, I've only ridden old GSXRs with flatslides but I'd heard it was the same on the SV.

bored out ones are worth 4hp.about same as flatslides except flats do have better gain all the way through rpm range. and stock tb's are tapered through bore, not parallel. |

Re: flatslide carbs
You forget, several people in this chat do this for a living. Some might even run SV race teams/race bikes.

Re: flatslide carbs
Why bother dicking about with flatslide carbs when you could just get a better bike?
