Re: Tescos......
Tesco employ 1/9th of the UK's working population. This is more than the army. Be careful!

Re: Tescos......
What I didn't mnetion before.....
I was stood in line at the checkout with my stuff along with one of my cloest mates, who was helping me out. I was waiting not far far off an hour for them to sort this out, I was about to pay when I say it flash up £133 I though thats way too much. they were going to charge me £116 for the monitor when the guy in line next to me was paying that for a 22". It them 30 mins to figure out they were wrong, them come back saying its err this price I was okay no worries can you check it in line with the web price. 50 mins later after waiting a long time, I spoke to another shop worker who said no its actually this price and thats the way it is. I got angry casue I waited 50 minutes then some idiot who know less about retail law, decided to mouth off me, at this point I had raised my voice. So i rasied my voice asking them not to talk over to get the manager which they ignorened and carried on talking over me. So I asked again in a rasied voice to get the manger as after 50 mins they were unable to deal with a simple matter. I mean wtf, I have worked in retail quite a bit and understand it from both sides. So I evetually paid £89 monitor, some nearly 2 hours later I found out the package is missing key item to make it work, I can't even do a test to ensure it works. That is poor.... Wouldn't you be mad if you have waited an hour, be talked down so idiot who dosn't know what they are talking about, to find out the package is missing key items. I don't expect to go into a store to be verbally abused by the staff members, if I had behaved like that in a simlar job I would have sacked. Yes I understand what some of the others said, I have had my experince of dealing with members of the public, some who have been phyically violent towards me, but comes with the job. |

Re: Tescos......
As dizzyb said getting arsey with them wont help at all, i've worked with the public in one way or another for about 14 years and raising your voice at them will only get their back up adn instantly put you at a disadvantage. Did you desperately need the monitir for that day? If not why not just come back when they're not as busy as saturday is still the busiest day. If the web price was right why didn't you order it off the there?
As for "it come with the job" well that depends on the job doesn't it. Working in a shop i wouldn't expect anyone to start shouting at me. In my opinion you were out of order with your reaction and taking it out on the person in the shop |
Re: Tescos......
Right as I alreday said, I got annyoed casue it took then an hour to solve problem which would take 5 minutes to do.
Yes I did need it that day casue I'm not in take a package over the week as I'm at work, that why I went there. The person that took an hour to do this, said they had worked there for 6 years:rolleyes: Was the bit not seen about them being rude towards to me, when I when asked what was up? I can count one hand how times I have been annyoed by someone in the past 3 years. Its the fact I have to go back, as its missing item from the box. "as for it comes with the job" I refering to my job alone, no one else. I have worked in various public facing jobs since I was 18. |
Re: Tescos......
Write it all down, what happened, how long it all took etc and go see the store manager.Ill warrant they give you the stuff you want and some Tesco vouchers or money off for your troubles.

Re: Tescos......
I work for Sainsbury's, you don't get "effective" training, just chucked in and expected to know. I have my way with computers & a gcse in maths so I was safe!
You don't get that problem in our stores :D |
Re: Tescos......
Some holier than thou-ness on here... I'd be very annoyed too, but I probably would have given the sales prevention assistant some advice beginning with F long before, and walked out.

Re: Tescos......
I used to run a car accessory shop and a very busy pub and you never would have caught me talking rudely to a customer unless they had first, even then it's a last resort to try and regain some control/decorum in the proceedings. Once their attention is gained, I would revert back to a calm voice/manner.
I always used to maintain that the customer is not always right but the are ALWAYS the customer. I would've found expected the sales person to find out the correct price when the price was desputed and the number one rule is if they ask for a manager to at least go and speak to the manager as they will know how to solve the issue. |
