Re: Does anyone use old engine oil in their Scottoiler?
Not in a Scottoiler but I do use old engine oil on the chain.

Re: Does anyone use old engine oil in their Scottoiler?
Yes, always. Haven't used anything else for many years, much free-er than bought oil and works at least as well as far as I can tell.
Now we've been here before haven't we? If your chain oiler is putting oil all over your bike, it's adjusted or fitted wrongly. |

i put my last lot of scottoil in this weekend, i was going to buy some more... now perhaps not :) I generally have my oiler set to mid-way position. i find minimum doesn't really oil enough. |
Re: Does anyone use old engine oil in their Scottoiler?
Nothing wrong with used engine oil. If it was going "mank" (whatever that means - I guess it isn't good) an oiler, then I would have to question what it was doing to the motor that it came out of.

Re: Does anyone use old engine oil in their Scottoiler?
Sorry to slightly de-rail the thread but does anyone have a picture of a scottoiler in kit form? I have stripped all the road going stuff off a bike I bought for my Minitwins spares and it had one fitted. But I dont know which bits are from the scottoiler etc. It seems a shame to throw it all as someone could have it on here, for a bargain.
