+1. When you factor in the things Jambo mentioned, if the price goes up much more than that, it's not too long before just buying a new (second hand) whole engine becomes appealing.

Already had a butchers mate and the cheapest I can get an engine for is around £400 (that's for a 20k miler), and since most of them are already out of the bikes the sellers cannot guarantee the condition of the gearboxes unfortunatley. I'd rather keep my engine and replace the box than drop a complete one in then find out the 2nd gear pops on that too, warranty or not it'll be a pain in the butt.

If I can get a good box then the price of gaskets/labour/oil etc will be towards the £4/500 mark anyway, and I'll get a 6 speeder.

I've offered this dude £50 (found by husky03 too) so let's see if he'll accept :D
