Get rid of norton and move to AVG?

Free version has a few less features than the version you pay for, but it does everything you need.

I used to use AVG up until recently but havent been impressed with the amount of resources required by version 8. Kaspersky is meant to be one of the best ones out there but I just cant bring myself to part with money for AV software so I went back to Avast! which I had put on parents machine years ago and they have had no trouble with it.

Malwarebytes is good - I would recommend having AV software as well though.

Just my 2p... :)

Theres a subtle but important difference betweent the two types.. if you have uninstalled Norton and are only running this you have no anti-virus protection on your PC.

Malware normally makes your PC run slowly, whereas Virus' are what do the real damage...

I tried Norton and AVG on Liz's mums Laptop, both made it run slow and take ages to book, I got fedup with them and we bought Mcaffee for it and its run a damn site faster ever since....

General note - Be fricken careful about downloading stuff like this off the web when you dont know its source of what it might be doing. You might actually be infecting your PC with the Pox you're trying to get rid of !!

Computers been running a bit weird, so did a full system scan with norton, only 1 infected area, a tracking cookie (no big deal).

Mate suggested this download, downloaded, ran.

Took a chance and loaded it - took 30 minutes, found nothing :mrgreen: As Fizz says, it's a spyware programme -
The website it comes from is a good one so I wasn't too concerned about it being dodgy

I also use AVG as antivirus - doesn't slow mine down at all

Mcaffee is good, but I'm tight and didn't want to pay for it. I would recommend that AVG Free is only downloaded from the AVG website.

Nono i wasnt very clear in my title..

Its for when you're computer is really running badly/not at all..

I still have norton installed, it was just to try and sort my comp out, its not running well..
