Re: 0.5% and Quantative Easing
Last time round I had a letter from the lender saying that they weren't passing it on and I don't spose they'll pass this on either.
A friend has invited us on their yacht in Turkey for a week, great thing is that the Turkish Lira is doing just as bad as the pound, so it's not like going to the €-zone. Anyway I'm Chancellor of the Exchequer, I didn't get here by not being able to use a calculator, tyou know. You're all in safe hands, trust me... |
Re: 0.5% and Quantative Easing
I've found an article in the Financial Times from last October, by an economist who's written a book called "The Credit Crunch". He said that the only solution to the current situation is to reduce interest rates and quantitative easing:

Last throw of the dice this printing money lark. They have absolutely nothing else to offer,so its a case of **** or bust. The frightening part is that our great leaders, the great and the good, have no idea if it will work or not. What thay have demonstrated is that ,collectively, they are no better at running the country than you or I.Just better at bullsh1t to get themselves there in the first place.A bit of a metaphor for our whole economy perhaps?

Re: 0.5% and Quantative Easing
I think we should do what some sort of ancient greek or somebodies society did. Pick a member of the public to run the country each month. Probably end up better than it is right now. If they can take pot luck at stuff, why not everybody have a go!

I intend to fully support the Bank of England in its quantitive easying, in fact I have to move the bike out of the garage to make room for the printing press.
I will be selling freshly quantitivly eased £20 notes for £10 each. Please post your cash only payments to A. Robber 11 Downing Street Banana Republic Sceptic Isle. Thank you for your contributions. |
