You've already spent the money on the meter - may as well use it to be certain of the fault before going further. Although I think we know what you're going to find. |

That its the battery? Or am I completely wrong? If it is the reg rec to blame will I still need to change my battery? Electronics are a dark art to me and with the bank holiday I'm thinking I should just buy a battery asap anyway. |
Re: Hard starting/flat battery.
As alluded to in my other thread (sorry mods for two threads, thought it was a different question but looks like it should have been in here), the battery in my curvy is, according to my haynes, the wrong one and is for a pointy. Does this matter and is it likely to have caused any problems in the charging system? I'm going to buy a one of the correct spec but was wondering if the pointy spec works better etc.
Can anyone shed some light? |
Re: Hard starting/flat battery.
I doubt it will make a difference. MDS batteries have some heavy duty ones that might be worth looking into.

Re: Hard starting/flat battery.
So what did your multimeter say when you checked the charging system? If your reg is fubared it will destroy your battery(and it seems your battery is destroyed)but it will destroy a new battery as well,so best check it out first.

Re: Hard starting/flat battery.
If the reg is fubared and causing the battery to be overcharged it will boil it up and ruin it quickly.I wouldnt want to spend £50 on a battery only for that to happen.
