Good advice from the guy who keeps using the ground instead of his sidestand. :p

Usual platitudes Plowsie, as long as you're ok, etc etc, but do keep an eye on that knee. Hopefully be fine once the swelling has gone down.

Glad you're not to bad mate.

Indeed Stu, watch the knee mate, you really don't know what you've got until it's gone, so is the bike badly damaged ?

Cheers Mark

I will eventually need a full left hanger set if you have one, no rush though. I'm unable to bend my knee at the moment as I have done a good job with fecking up my cruciates...

As the doctor said, the fear was I had shattered my knee cap from my fall and possibly broken my ankle where the footpeg dinged me as I went down, I said to the doc, don't worry about the ankle mate, its fecked anyway but deffo no broken...Then I stood up .

Still some pins and needles and we are 12 hours after the accident now, I was advised that it was nerve damage that has done it.

Bike from what I can remember before I was whisked away was only scratched a bit more on the fairing that was already bust...mirror bust, barend scrapped a bit more and obv, the cheese metal bracket that always breaks was broke. Speedplay may be coming over later, that will be my initial look at it.

So yeah, eagerness and assumption really took over. Ambulance in front of me (how good was that, I crashed behnd an Ambulance lol), the way the road splits, and where the Ambulance base is and his road positioning (halfway in my lane andthe lane I thought he was gonna take) the assumption stepped in, in actual fact he didn't know where he was going (and he said that when he got out) and turned out that he was gonna use both lanes to square the roundabout off, a dab of my brakes turned out to be too much as i was turning slightly left, and WOW, full lock bars and brakes, I've felt this feeling before and then just pain all over. As I have hit the deck, the only thing I was worried about was my mate following me in his car, when I had last checked my mirrors, he was 50 yards behind so thought I would be okay, he ended up nowhere near and just stopped the traffic. It was all a palarva though, the Ambulance that I nearly hit wasn't an NHS one so they couldn't take me, the next 'Ambulance' was a quick response Volvo, here I am with my knee playing silly buggars and killing me and they wanted to stuff me in a Volvo, I ended up getting some of the best 'sheeet' in the world (I was high as a kite felt like I had had 20 pints but could ride home lol), and getting in my mates car whilst my Dad recovered my bike home.

Picture of the road http://tinyurl.com/dnakmp, where the split starts, he had half gone across and was on the red. And, with him saying I didn't know where I was going, I'm from Leicester, he may have been at fault. But, he didn't lock my brakes did he, naturally, I coulda just rode it out and called him a c0ck or something. So IMO no basis for claiming.
