Stock tool kit with 2 muti-tool thingies and a tiny LED torch, rest of space is taken up by my 2 disc locks.

Mine has a tool kit. Could take the engine out with it if i was inclined to, there is that much in it. As well as my iPod and my phone and bank card.:D

Re: What tools do you take when you go out for a ride?

Now then, whenever I' out on the bike, generally under the pillion seat I have:

- Assorted spanners (6mm through to 16mm)
- Assorted sockets, roughly the same as above
- Assorted allen keys, metric & imperial sizes
- T-bar with posi/phillips/flat/torx/security torx bits.
- C-spanner & stock spark plug socket
- Small ratchet, usually 1/4 sometimes 1/2 too.
- Full first aid kid including two "space" blankets
- High vis over jacket (First Bike On Scene)
- Puncture repair kit with bungs & compressed gas, plus tools/glue required to use the bungs.
- Gaffa tape, insulation tape.

Some of that, as I found out on Barmouth or Bust isn't in the toolkit any more, it's still in the shed, so I need to put those back.

I'm expecting questions of "WTF you doing carrying that lot?" - so as an example, on the Barmouth or Bust run I helped repair a GSXR that had a loose front brake lever.

I was advised 'a sealed sandwich bag containing a tenner, to buy petrol and/or fags in an emergency' and that seems wise. It's not like there's much space for anything else under the seat on an SV, quite what they expect would fit under there AND weigh 2kg is beyond me.

A scottoiler would take most of the space up anyway. I don't trust people enough to mount it in an open place anyway. :x

Although if I had a KTM I would, those new orangey Scottoilers are fab!

Looks like I'm the only one that can pretty much fully service my bike (except for "consumables") with what's under the seat. :)
