That's all evil computer graphics trickery right?

Edit: Oh god I don't think it is. How do they change direction so fast?!

When I started I arrogantly thought, 'how hard can it be'? I soon found out and still have a scar on my arm to prove it. :smt101

That looks like a really great toy. I'd love one, but Mrs Wyrdness is dead against it. Once we move to the country and have a garden then I'll probably get one.

She's sitting the other side of the room, watching me type this and mocking me by saying, "I want a helicopter but the evil Mrs won't let me have one".

I will have one, so there. :smt098 to you, Mrs W.

What would you recommend for a beginner?

You could try a co-axial one to begin with as they are a lot more stable. Co-axial heli's have two sets of main blades which spin in opposite directions making them really stable and ideal for total newbies. I went for t full cyclic heli (1 main rotor and 1 tail rotor) but they are a lot harder to fly. If you want a full cyclic start out with the Esky Honey Bee Fixed Pitch heli. They are awesome and pretty cheap. You can get them for about £100 which is ready to fly and has all the bits you need.

Yes, they can carry a payload, you can get proper heli camera's for about £40.
