if you jailbreak there is an app called pdanet on cydia that allows tethering without o2's bolt on charges ;)

Mine has finally activated. I hope tomtom or garmin bring out a proper satnav app. Maps is useless in that respect, as far as I can see.

It's assisted gps not independent so it'll never be great, it's fine for what it is which is a helpful map!

well my phone just crashed, plugged into iTunes to restore/reboot that crashed and it's bloody reset to march!!! ahhhhh I don't even know what I might have lost

I won't be updating, already jailbroken running PDAnet for tethering/3g modem - works a treat when signal is good :)

Mine updated fine, took a few attempts to register, I assume because the servers are flat out atm.
