Everybody has said the same thing, but they are bit more than i wanted to pay.
Basic kit is £160 then you have buy everything on top.
Oxford kits are cheaper but not as good according to reviews in the bike mags, came 5th.

What about simple 2-way radios with hands-free kits? If you get ones with AA batteries, you can change them on the road rather than charge a special battery?

I don't know? I too am thinking of way of communicating with pillion which doesn't involve taps, jabs, kicks of knocks. Too prehistoric.

The Autocom is the Dog`s Danglies , if it dies they will service it , all leads can be unplugged from the board and replaced , I have tested mine to 1*5 miles per hour and it was crystal clear , there really is no better for the money , you don`t have to have the all singing all dancing one . I have mine set up in an Oxford magnetic tank bag , I drop it on the tank and throw an extra bungie from one side of the frame to the other , I also put Sat-nag and MP3 player in there as well and then run a lead to my Optimate flylead on the battery , this gives me the choice of when I want to carry my Autocom rather than have it there all the time , it`s lost if the bike gets recovered after a crash or it`s nicked , this way I can bring it in when not required :)

If you want Autocom for Pillion use then remember to order the Duo kits as they supply all the bits for a Pillion at a reduced cost . I got the AV300 pro Duo .

I would bite the bulit and pay a bit extra now. All that will happen is you will spend £60 on a kit thats not very good then want to change it.

Just get an Autocom ;)

Give Sam a ring at Chainspeed, he might be able to sort you out with one of the older (wired) models.
