On my way to work, there is a sign entering a village either side of the road that says 30mph, but, they are blocked by trees, I only see them passing them at 8-12mph. If I was doing 60 I'd prob slow down anyway, but still, you can't see them.

I'd argue the point with them if it came to it. As said mate, if the sign is visible, no excuse unfortunately :(

all fair enough, but its a big jump from NSL to a 30. and then have a camera van waiting in the 30

and all 3 of us did not see the sign, the leader is very carful, and does not speed in 30s and 40s, as he may lose his job. he is going back up this weekend (not because of the tickets, he was going up anyway) and going to look at the signs and see how we missed them.

i just think you get a bit more of a warning round here, as theres bumps in the road when entering my village which is 40>30

if it went to a 40 then a 30 i dont think we would have missed 2 signs? fair enough, we all missed the 30 sign, not sure how, maybe it was not clear? but if there was a 40 sign, or another warning sign, we may have noticed it?
our shevrons, bumps in the road, countdown markers etc?

Mate of mine got stopped for doing 90mph on the M6. "Do you realise you were doing 90mph sir?"

thankfully! other wise we all end up with piddling little stretches of NSL look at North yorks - its so annoying! I agree with the principle and i don't speed in 30's or 40's but to come out of a 30 into a 40 into NSL for 500m to come back in a 40 on then 30 ad nausem for x amount of miles does annoy me esp when its clear to see villages coming up.

as you Hovis - be a man an accept it - if you genuinlly can't see the sign then fight it fingers crossed whatever you do

I hate that b*ll*x. They've started doing that around here, meaning you've got to slow down way before the 30 section starts. Might be useful for lorries that take half a mile to get from 60 to 30. But when I'm out on the bike, or even in the car, it's just unreasonable. So I'm then forced to slow down a lot earlier than I need to. If you can't slow down in time for the 30 sign it's your own fault

going 60-30 is normally fine when the trees and stuff are cut back the N-wales speed taliban don't do that and then do you anyway ( bloody gogs) at leat their chief monkey Brunstum has now gone so maybe it will return to some semblance of normality
