Can't see him staying on his results alone, it is most likely that Dorna will up the rate with Tech3 as an incentive to keep a Brit in the series.

None of the the former WSB riders have done fantastically in MotoGP; a one off win for Bayliss and a few podiums here and there from himself, Edwards and Xaus. They have spent a lot of time on either WSS or WSB chassis', these are road based bikes which are soft in comparison to a MotoGP machine.

Harsh on Bayliss. Think overall he did good.

Edwards has been best out of big 4....better than Dovizioso on a works Honda and that is no slouch.

Spies waiting a year may mean JT has a stay of execution...

But if JT stays and De Angelis and Elias go then I will vent my displeasure on this very forum!:p Or go to the foot of my stairs...both good. Vermuelen hasn't done anything either this year so he deserves his cards.

JT must deserve his place and this year he hasn't done so.

I think he did good too, but not as fantastically as many expected (except the one-off at Valencia). MotoGP and WSB bikes are completely different, in the first year you can say track knowledge is an issue, but none of the WSB boys have managed to get up there and in the mix of the championship.

Edwards is doing a good job, the only thing placing a cloud over his head is the exceptional talent/skill both Rossi and Lorenzo are displaying this year.

I think Spies is making the right decision.

I agree, but Dorna help sub his wages as they want a Brit in the series. Dorna also wanted Sete back, and they paid the lease of the Desmo for the year.

But he should still get his seat on merit, not because of politicis IMHO. I'll watch Moto GP regardless of whether theres a brit in it or not.

Why dont Dorna help more youngsters.. whats going on with Smith, Redding and Webb for next year ?

There's the future IMHO of British Moto GP success...

I agree with you, but he hasn't shown enough potential this season. I know everybody moans that the Spanish riders get rides because they bring in the sponsors, but lately the riders have been good enough. JT doesn't bring a sponsor, he isn't consistent, and he only has a British interest (meaning not many support him from other country's, like Rossi and Edwards, etc...).

I know people will disagree, thats understandable as we all have our own opinions, but my point is too many people think he should stay simply because he is British. If he was not a Brit would you say he deserves to stay???

+ 1,000,000

These are the lads that will be the future British MotoGP champions, I hope Dorna will support them along there careers. With Moto2 being introduced this is the perfect time for these lads to make the stepping stone up to the premier class.

Interesting comment on Eurosport yesterday during practice. They were running through the teams for 2010 (whether confirmed or not) and were saying that an Australian TV channel had just paid a lot of money for TV rights next year. With the uncertainty regarding Stoner (will he compete next year, won't he) then not having an Australian racing wouldn't go down well with the TV channel given the money they've just spent, potentially opening the door for a Vermulen ride via Dorna pressure, like in JT's case. I personally can't see Stoner not returning, so it won't be a factor. But it's politics all the way through the field.

Like it!

He saves face and gets to run in an exciting new championship.

Nothing down but I think he would jump at this...or should do if his Motogp days are numbered.
