that will be why then.....

you've added a page. You added 51 to 52, when 52 is the first page of that chapter. if you add 52 (the first page of the chapter) to 50 (number of remaining pages in the chapter) it comes to 102, not 103

I got 408. Each chapter is 51 pages long so chapter 9 must start 102 pages before the end. Right?

Wrong, it's 409 :-)
